Course Overview

For students who aim to get into the legal professions, this course is your first step towards professional qualification to become a solicitor or to practise at the Bar. Even without acquiring further professional qualifications, the course provides a solid foundation for access to a range of graduate roles in the legal sector, for instance as a paralegal or member of court staff; in the civil service (whether in local or central government); or in third-sector organisations working with offenders and victims of crime.

Admissions Requirement for LLB (3 Years)

We will consider you as an individual and take into account all elements of your application, not just your qualifications. We are looking for breadth and depth in your current studies and enthusiasm for the subject you wish to study.

In order to achieve 16 years of education equivalence from Higher Education Commission Pakistan, it is essential to have completed 12 years of local education (Metric/Intermediate) or 8 O-levels and 3 A-levels. In other instances, you will normally need to have the following:

Assessments in LLB (3 Years)

The course has been carefully designed to develop a wide range of academic, legal and practical skills, including by giving you the opportunity to engage with a varied range of assessment methods. A developing range of assessments will enable you to grow in confidence and demonstrate your acquisition of knowledge and skills. The assessment methods used across the course include:

In the final year of your course, the dissertation unit will allow you to undertake a complex research project in a subject area of your choosing. With the support of your supervisor, you will be expected to formulate a relevant and viable research question. The project will allow you to further develop your legal research skills and the ability to communicate knowledge, findings and recommendations.

Mode of Study in LLB (3 Years)

The programme is taught using face-to-face learning. Students will have access to IVY resources as well as University of Bedfordshire BREO/VLE to complete their studies/modules. Support will be provided by local and link tutors at IVY and UOB.
